Accessibility statement.

MLCN is committed to building a platform every educator, student, and family can use. This is what we're aiming for, what we've done so far, and how to report what isn't working.

Our commitment

We target conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That means readable color contrast, keyboard operability for all interactive elements, screen-reader friendly markup, captions on any video content, and reasonable text scaling.

What we've done

Semantic HTML throughout — every page uses proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and form labels.
A skip-to-content link on every page (press Tab from the top to reveal it).
Visible focus indicators with our brand amber, not the browser default.
Color is never the sole conveyor of meaning — score levels carry numeric labels alongside their color band.
Motion is minimal — a small fade-in on load and hover-state transitions — and all of it is disabled under prefers-reduced-motion. Page navigation itself uses no motion.
The survey-taking surface (the one most students will hit) works on keyboard alone and avoids any time-based interactions.

Known gaps

We have not yet completed a full third-party audit. Specific known issues we're tracking:

Some chart visualizations (radar, ranked bars in the report) rely on visual perception of color contrast between two overlaid lines. We provide the underlying data in adjacent tabular form so a screen-reader user can get the same content.
Some transactional emails are rich HTML; every one includes a plain-text alternative, but we have not yet run them through a dedicated email-accessibility audit.

Tell us when something's wrong

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on the platform, please email info@mnlcn.org with as much detail as you can. Include the page URL, what assistive technology you're using if any, and what you were trying to do. We aim to acknowledge within two business days and to ship a fix or a workaround within two weeks of confirmation, depending on complexity.

Alternative formats

If a report or document on the platform isn't usable in your format of choice, write to us. We'll get you the information in a way that works.
